Meet Lionel Messi’s wealthier teammate, Leonardo Campana, who enjoys skydiving in Hawaii and purchases artwork from a Miami artist

LIONEL MESSI may be the highest-paid player in the MLS, but he is not even the wealthiest member of his squad.

That distinction is conferred upon his Inter Miami colleague, Leonardo Campana, who is the heir to a fortune worth more than £1 billion.

The Ecuadorian is only 23 years old and is the son of Pablo Campana, a well-known South American politician, businessman, and former Olympic tennis player.

Born into money and sporting heritage has served Leonardo well as he lives an incredible lifestyle.

He not only has the world’s finest player as a friend, but he also enjoys incredible activities, such as skydiving in Hawaii.

The forward is also an art collector, owning works by renowned Miami pop artist Leonardo Hidalgo.

He splits his riches with his lovely girlfriend, Ariana Altuve, who studied Fashion Business at New York’s famed Parsons School of Design.

Family affair.
Leonardo, who played for Premier League club Wolves from 2019 to 2020, hails from strong stock.

His father, Pablo, was a sportsman who memorably competed for Ecuador in the tennis doubles event in the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta.

Between 1990 and 1997, he competed in the Davis Cup and was once rated 165 in the world.

Instead of sports, he pursued a career in politics, eventually becoming Ecuador’s Minister of Commerce.

In addition, he formed Millenium S.A., a real estate company in his own country, which has made him wealthy.

Interestingly, while his father is a billionaire, Leonardo’s grandmother, Isabel Noboa, is regarded as one of Ecuador’s most accomplished businesswomen.

Dad Pablo has been spotted at Inter Miami games, cheering on his kid.

He even posed for photos with Messi and Inter Miami co-owner David Beckham on the DRV PNK Stadium grass.

Head for heights.
Campana, who stands 6 feet 2 inches tall, is well-known for his aerial abilities.

His fondness for heights extends to leaping out of a plane with a parachute.

In November, the daring player went on a luxury trip to Hawaii.

Many elite players’ contracts typically include a stipulation requiring them to refrain from engaging in dangerous behaviour while overseas.

But daredevil Campana apparently thought the adrenaline thrill of skydiving was too much to pass up.

He also shared his prank with his 603,000 Instagram followers, including a picture of himself in mid-air.

He just captioned the photo with the rock and roll hand gesture emoji.

During the same journey, Campana was seen searching into the boot of his £60,000 Jeep Wrangler.

His stunning missus, Ariana, accompanied him on his travels.

They also had a fantastic excursion to the Galapagos Islands, where they rented a boat and saw native wildlife.

American beauty
Little is known about Ariana, the blonde beauty who is in a relationship with Campana.

She keeps her personal life to herself, and her Instagram is private.

She appears to have been romantically involved with Ecuador international for a year.

But they’re already inseparable.

She participated in his hi-jinx in Hawaii and enjoys playing the supportive Wag by cheering him on at Inter Miami games.

According to accounts, she studied Administration and Marketing and earned a four-year degree from Bryant University in the United States.

The Balenciaga-wearers Ariana also completed a Fashion Business course at Parsons School of Design in New York.

Expensive Hobbies
Purchasing art is sometimes an activity for the wealthy and elite.

Campana’s artistic tastes are more modern, and he enjoys pop art.

Back in December, he spent the money for a reproduction of a picture by renowned Miami artist Leonardo Hidalgo.

The artwork, a perfect piece depicting Campana celebrating a goal with Messi, would have cost thousands.

Hidalgo has previously been commissioned by Hillary Clinton, Marc Anthony, and Enrique Iglesias, among others.

A thankful Campana thanked Hidalgo on Instagram.

“Thank you @artistleonardohidalgo for capturing this moment that will be marked for the rest of my life,” he wrote.
