From the Olympic Games in 2008 to the World Cup final in 2022: Messi and Di Maria have experienced everything together

Legends Lionel Messi and Angel Di Maria may be included in coach Javier Mascherano’s lineup after the Argentina U23 team qualified for the Olympic football event in the summer.

Even while Messi, 36, and Di Maria, 35, are nearing the end of their careers, their wealth of knowledge might be very helpful to a young, talented Argentina team as they pursue triumph.

Regarding the potential selection of his former Barcelona teammate Messi, Mascherano stated: “Everyone is aware of my friendship and relationship with Leo [Messi].”

“A player such as him has the opportunity to travel with us to the Olympics; it will inevitably depend on him and his obligations.”

From July 24 to August 10, the competition will be held in France. Participating nations may have up to three players who are older on their roster. A core group of players born on or after January 1, 2001 will make up the squad.
